For the 11th year in a row, the Sacramental Environmental Commission (SEC) will be giving out environmental awards to companies, organizations and individuals to recognize their accomplishments and leadership in protecting our environmental resources while enabling economic progress.

The nomination form may be submitted by anyone for a candidate in one of four (4) categories. Please feel free to pass this on to anyone you feel might have a good candidate. Please note, any submissions need to be received by February 15, 2010. See nomination form for submission details.

Sacramento Environmental Commission

The Sacramento Environmental Commission (SEC) was created by the County Board of Supervisors and City Councils in 1988 with a broad charter to provide information, analysis, and advice to the elected officials on environmental issues, and to provide assistance and advice to the Environmental Management Department on environmental programs. The appointed members come from diverse backgrounds, frequently representing environmental law, community advocacy, environmental regulation, industry, and land use planning among their areas of expertise and interest.

Meetings are held the 4th Monday of each month.  

January, April,  July and October meetings are held at the Board of Supervisors’ Chambers, 700 H Street, Room 1450, Sacramento, California, starting at 6:30 p.m.

All other monthly meetings beginning May, 2009 - are held at:
Sacramento County
Environmental Management Department

Mather, CA
starting at 6:00 p.m.
